Hair Fall & Baldness Treatment in Ambattur
Hair fall and baldness are descriptions rather than one diagnosis. Pattern loss, temporary shedding, deficiency, inflammation, infection and scarring conditions require different investigations and treatment plans.

Hair loss has many possible causes
A widening part or receding hairline may indicate pattern hair loss, while increased shedding after illness, stress, childbirth or weight change may reflect telogen effluvium. Patchy loss, scaling, pain or loss of follicle openings can indicate a different scalp disorder.
More than one cause can occur at the same time. Starting injections, supplements or a transplant without identifying the pattern can delay effective treatment.
What a hair-loss assessment includes
The dermatologist reviews onset, rate of progression, family history, health changes, diet, medicines, menstrual or hormonal history, styling practices and scalp symptoms. Examination and dermoscopy can assess density, miniaturisation, inflammation and scarring. Blood tests are selected only when the history suggests a deficiency or systemic cause.
Treatment is matched to the diagnosis
A plan may include correction of a deficiency, prescription treatment, scalp care, PRP or GFC, hair mesotherapy with a clearly identified product, transplant assessment or non-surgical coverage. HFT is supportive scalp care and should not replace treatment for an active cause.
Progress is gradual and should be documented consistently. Some conditions can regrow, some can be stabilised and others may cause permanent loss if scarring has occurred.
When to arrange an earlier review
Sudden patches, rapid progression, pain, pus, marked scaling, eyebrow loss or shiny scar-like areas need prompt assessment. Early treatment can help protect follicles when inflammation or infection is active.
Questions patients often ask
How much daily shedding is normal?
Some daily shedding is expected, but a sustained increase, visible thinning or bald patches should be assessed in context.
Do all patients need blood tests?
No. Tests are selected when history or examination suggests deficiency, thyroid disease, hormonal change or another systemic cause.
Can PRP or GFC treat every type of hair loss?
No. Suitability depends on the diagnosis, stage and whether responsive follicles remain.
When is hair transplant considered?
It may suit selected stable pattern loss when donor supply and long-term progression are assessed.
